[ the video clicks on to show absolutely nothing, but breathing can be heard, and as the familiar ramble of a door opening comes up muffled in the background, the camera swings up and the inside of an apartment comes into view, as well as the bottom jaw of a dog - Hayate - at the edge of the video.
cue shaky feed quality as the pup runs over from where he was snoozing earlier to Ace, who's just walked in the front door. He's a mess of bloodstained bandages around his upper torso and one arm, but seems to be holding himself together just fine ]
- Hey, buddy. You're hungry, huh?
[ Hayate's barking in response. Obvs he's hungry ACE YOU DERP, it's dinnertime! ]
Okay, okay, I got it. Give me a few, alright? Got something to take care of.
[ This is where it gets dizzying as Hayate turns round in circles for a few seconds before barking more, then sitting down and watches Ace as he digs around in the kitchen for a first aid kit and, when he finds it, patches his wounds up a little better, winding clean strips of bandage around the two slashes across his torso and a deeper gash in one forearm. It's still messy, but a lot neater than that awful initial tangle of fabric.
It finally seems like he's done, and when he gets up and takes a couple steps forward Hayate goes nuts because HEY he finally gets to have dinner --
but then the pirate just falls facefirst onto the floor, unmoving, and that cuts the pup's moment of celebration short. Annoyed, he pads over to the guy who's passed out on the floor and bleeding into the rug lol and nudges him, barking. Bitch you're supposed to feed me not fall asleep WAKE UP WAKE UP god ]
