today, i got up early and learned to weld with my dad. the Tech Shop is like a gym for machinists: you become a member, and can use the facilities whenever you want. we got cleared on oxyacetylene welding. the casual references to the possibility of blowing up our half of the building with the tanks, and the large streams of fire i got to control
