Paranoia in America

Now that i am a "master" in eastern european studies, i figured i should develop a better understanding of my country, so have been reading a lot of literature on the dark side of american history, expanisionsim, imperialism, politics, capitalism, chicago school ecomonics, etc.

Cool, I've been reading a lot of history books too.
I'm reading one now about the history of the NSA.
It's kind of boring though.. the part about WWII codebreaking was interesting but the last 90 pages have all been about the cuban missle crisis, really boring.

I recently read Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine, it was super informative, but also super depressing. Now I am rereading A People's History of the US because I forgot a lot of it since I last read it many years ago, but feel that its a great basis for a history of US

Ah yes, Naomi Klein's book is really good too. I think about it a lot when world events happen, you can't say that for a lot of books. It seems like she is not given her due-- if she were a man I bet she would be treated with the importance she deserves..
