Somehow, in my last post, I completely managed to forget to mention my trip to the Land of the Free, and Home of the Brave. Between the 11th and the 18th of December, I was in NJ/NY, thanks to the inexplicable kindness of my aunt and uncle who invited me over, and paid for my tickets. New York is the proverbial business. It's been nearly a year since I headed over there and I want to go baaack.

You have a primary degree in Comp Sci and will soon have a valuable secondary degree. Me, I briefly entertained the idea of applying for a green card. If you want to go, I'm sure you could.

I want to live in that hive.

NOO!!! No-one should live there!!! They give you 10 days holidays a year, no pension, no health care and think you should work yourself to the bone.
Now, don't get me wrong, I like visiting America and had a great time there on doing my intern but I have no desire to live there pernamently, there is too much about the place that sucks and too much bad attitude around the place.

Different strokes for different folks. While the holiday bit is a real, true inconvenience, I wouldn't actually move over there unless I could afford health insurance, and I'd be willing to work 60 or 100 hours a week as long as I was minting it. Defined benefit pensions are doomed, shop around on your own bat.

I love all big cities so far, and New York is even cooler. It's not the states that I'm attracted to, it's Nu Yoik SiTy!
