this was interesting and unexpected. what was the original prompt/idea behind it? like kendall quits the band and james decides to punish him for it? then hate sex?

Pretty much. I was going to flesh out the background a lot more originally, but I haven't been working on basically anything writing-related in a long time, so it wasn't going to happen.

Not much more, honestly. I basically was in the midst of eighty multi-chapter or long fic things when I started it and wanted something short, sweet, and angsty. But I'm glad. :)
