Congratulations! Now you just need to make MOAR! I hear from Best Buy that my vacuum sealer finally shipped so soon I will not have to fuss with waxing my cheeses. Hoorah. Waxed cheeses look great, but waxing a 3 lb cheese usually results in mess and tears for me. just being able to vacuum bag will be SO much easier.
When you apply the wax as thickly as you did, it is effectively air tight. (Not enough oxygen/CO2 will be exchanged for mold to grow - which is the general idea here

And likely way easier
Does it change anything about the aging process? I assume less air gets in and that might slow maturation?
(ie: wax, I assume, isn't 100% air tight)
