Pairings

Had some terrific cheese tonight. Nothing new, but was surprised by how well whole hazelnuts held up with blue cheese as a pairing.

Also used honey with ddb and was surprised by how it changed the flavour profile.

one of my happiest mouth memories from my last trip to france was a giant salad that had hazelnuts, blue cheese, apples and crunchy fried lardons....

the fact that it was in monets gardens in Giverny, on a patio covered with wisteria and tons of wee song birds begging for handouts was just a bonus :)
