I normally have a life about as eventful as that of a painted wall drying, but suddenly I have events coming up. And my work is full of new things. I am revising a mss with a new editor. Her name, in my house at least, is Julia Whom We Love. She apparently has a real name, and children, and many other writers, but in my world right now she ( Read more... )

That is really kind of you. Thanks. PS Your cover art is gorgeous and prompted me to order your book right away. I hope you are happy with it.

Yes, I thought the artist really captured the mood of the story. Those Julias, they are so talented! Hope you enjoy it.

Well, my blog feels like a garage filled to the ceiling (think Fibber McGee and Molly) with assorted and sundry, if somewhat interesting in a weird way, crap.

On the other hand, you write for a living, so you have an excuse not to write in your blog, no?

Well, that is nicely put about my excuse. And if I am going to mull over the best way to present things, I suppose it should be for work. How is the job treating you? Did those ladies ever get friendly?

The job continues to be boring and not pay well. I have an appointment this evening with a career consultant while Maggie and the boys are trick-or-treating. The women are a bit friendlier than they were, but in addition to the cliqueishness I mentioned before, they're all students at the same place, they're all about 20, and they're all into pop culture, any of which facts would be enough to leave me out of most conversations. I feel like Jonathan Swift, remarking, "I hate and despise the animal called mankind, but I like the occasional sartorias, madwriter and garretfw."

Now there'd be a sight. You just know all the great people of the past would have had blogs.

So glad you have such a lovely editor, but even more delighted, selfishly, that this means there will be a new book from you at some point in the forseeable future. :)
