Memoirs of a Geisha
Memoirs of a Geisha is one of my all time favorite books - and when I recently heard that they were making a movie I was half filled with excitement and half with dread as I thought that, like many books turned movies, it might be a disaster.

And, of course, the trailer. The movie looks very good, I think. My only problem would be the language - having the movie set in Japan, produced in Japan...and having all the cast speaking perfect English is slightly offsetting in a world which looks so real.
Ziyi Zhang looks excellent as Sayuri, but apparently the Japanese were outraged that the three main geishas were being portrayed by Chinese Actors.
