HISTORY: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Jack_Atlas

PERSONALITY:

Jack is one of the more outspoken characters of the series’s cast. He's all about being loud, proud and confident of his abilities. This stems from the fact that he adores attention, and he secretly hates being all alone with no friends.

He’s also a jackass with a refined rich taste and loves to wear elaborate clothes (since they are attention grabbers). Now you’d think he’s a rich man who willingly throws money around, but it's quite the opposite! He grew up in the ghettos of Satellite, along with his friends he considers bros, Yusei and Crow. But he always dreamed of something bigger and better. He knew he deserved a life better than in the dump. So when Godwin offered him a chance to go to Neo Domino, he took the opportunity.

… Even if doing so made him to pull a total dick move to his best friend Yusei Fudo by stealing his Stardust Dragon. You see, Jack could have easily asked for it, but this is where his pride comes into play. He just let his pride and rational thinking aside for his wishes. Therefore he took a mutual friend of their's, a small child named Rally and dumped him out into the sea to make Yusei leave behind his deck and D-Wheel unattended. He stole both of those things and rose into his kinghood.

It’s worth noting here, that even though Godwin manipulated his way to the top (by bribing challengers with money so they would lose on purpose) he’s actually a good performer in his own right. He’s just oozing with passion and is a natural crowd pleaser. He’s over the top and speaks in a loud booming voice that gathers the attention of everyone around him. He turned into the city's darling, even if it was built on lies and deceit. He had to deny after all, his true birthplace, as Satellite people were nothing but scum.

When Yusei knocked him off his throne sometime later, he realized that a false deceitful king was nothing to be proud of. He made it a goal to become a true king of the people and made amends with his old friends after some self discovery with the help of Carly.

Even if he is a jackass, he does care about his friends dearly and will help them in need (but he won't admit it). Helping usually consisting of snapping them out of their trances or beating up whoever is bugging him. But he is selfish and doesn't have any job skills outside of being a showman. Therefore he is jobless at the moment who spends money on expensive shit for himself. Except ramen, his favorite food ever since he was a child.

Anyway, Jack’s also a vigilante in a sort of way. He’ll poke his nose into crime and deal with it himself. But he has to have reasons first because he doesn't care about random people's life problems. Perhaps it breaches his personal code of honor or he can relate to the victim. Or maybe he was involved in the fuck up. His attitude towards the perpetrator is, punch first (or duel in his canon), ask questions later sort of thing. But he’ll get to the bottom of it regardless with his aggressive behavior.

Also he’s fearless and he will go into a challenge head on with confidence. He's gone toe to toe with gods and criminal gangs before, there's nothing to be afraid of. He also doesn't believe in destiny, in that he can shape his own path.

Jack isn’t a people person, even if he’s a good performer who’s adored by everyone. He just doesn’t know how to deal with them, that’s usually Yusei’s department. Generally he tries to talk down on others or butt heads with people who have similar personalities. Although he has a soft spot for children, probably gained from being around Crow's group of unfortunate orphans.

Because he’s loud and prideful, you may think he’s a bit of an idiot, but he’s actually very clever and cunning. He's denied heavy temptation to deals with the devil and come up with ways to beat others at Duel Monsters who run decks to counter (or mirror his own). This is showing how he's learned not to fall into those traps again post kinghood.

In short, he seems like a typical Yu-Gi-Oh! rival, but there's more beneath the long coatails then that.

POWERS/ABILITIES:

He’s very skilled at Duel Monsters for one, while it’s a pretty useless skill outside of canon, it shows that he can be clever, act quick and come up with viable strategies.

He has a birthmark on his right forearm in the shape of a pair of wings, designating that he is a Signer (essentially a reincarnation of an ancient Aztec warrior destined to fight against evil). It doesn’t do a lot except it can be used to locate canonmates with the same or similar abilities by glowing in reaction to their marks.

Also he already knows how to perform stunts on his motorcycle. Such as full 360 degree side flips in the air and back flips. He really isn’t afraid of crashing and lord knows how many times he’s had a accident but gotten right back up on his feet as soon as its healed.

He has the power of Burning Soul, in which he has FLAMING FISTS OF FURY so that he can summon his key monster’s upgraded form.

Additionally, he knows how to fight well and can slug somebody with a fierce punch.

ACT SUGGESTIONS:

I can see him performing stunts on his motorbike, which he can do with ease. He can also summon his monsters as holograms to show off. He can incorporate pyrotechnics while summoning Red Demon’s Dragon and its counterparts to create quite a show!

FIRST-PERSON:

[Jack watches the crew as they set up the necessary components for his act, flagging down the guy who was in charge of setting up the pyrotechnics for extra flair]

No No no, we need more of it. [He gestured toward the entire outer rim of the ring] When the crowd sees Jack Atlas perform they will only have eyes on him and his glorious dragon!

[Meanwhile the crew guy looked dubious, after all, that many flames could be dangerous when it’s that close to onlookers]

What’s that look for? Get on with it!

THIRD-PERSON:

“The ruler's heartbeats will now file through here! Take witness to its creation-shaking power! Synchro Summon! My very soul, Red Demon's Dragon!”

Jack recited his chant to call forth his dragon, the said dragon arriving onto the stage with a spectacular wave of flames behind it. The crowd was in awe of the performance, giving Jack their full attention. He grinned, everything going exactly the way he wanted to.

You know, at first he hated this place. Being branded like a criminal and forced to work, and no Blue Eyes White Mountain Coffee on top of that! That was just no way to live. But he adjusted to his surroundings after realizing that there was no way he was getting the hell out of this joint. Secretly, he enjoyed the work, and he easily melded back into his performers persona during the show

Perhaps he had to wait until the right time came to break out, maybe whenever the owner would show his face around the circus. As much as he hated to admit it, it felt lonely again without his friends, just like how it was when he was king. He could duel the owner into forcing him to return back home! Though, nobody else seem like a duelist, it was a major shock to him to say the least.

But now he had a show to put on, and he wouldn’t disappoint his audience. He wanted to make it entertaining for everyone!

“Destroy the opponent with all your might, Crimson Hell Flare!” He commanded to his dragon, the monster spitting flames at the dummy.
