If you've been following my GainesvilleModel.com blog on MySpace, you've seen more text than pictures. That's because I've had an amazing string of SIX cancellations/no shows in a row. Thankfully, I have years of training with programming computers and recent training with a toddler so I am prepared for things just not going my way. :)

How about a text message, which you send as an additional email? You know, add the text message email address, in addition to the regular email address...? That way, they'll get their email reminder and a text message at the same (?) time. And if they reply to the text message, it will go to your email.

(so what if it costs them $.10 to receive a txt msg. Doesn't it cost a lot more to cancel an appt? If you have a cancellation fee?)

Plus, not everyone can easily check their email. And sometimes, when I'm out, I leave the computer on & it automatically downloads my email. So if I happen to check my email when I'm out, I'll get "0 messages" because it's already sitting on my computer.

Of course, a phone call is the traditional way of reminding people of their appointments. ;)

Believe it or not, I've never sent a text message.

My photography sessions are free, so it doesn't really make sense to have a cancellation fee. The problem is that so far, I haven't requested phone numbers so I've had no way to contact people who appear to be not showing up.
