Your story about the two-way river reminds me of a similar underwhelming experience I had once. My family and I visited a cave in Tennessee that featured an underground waterfall "Ruby Falls." After a medium-sized walk through the cave, we arrived in a nearly pitch-dark room. Stirring music began to play, and a voice proudly proclaimed the unparalleled grandeur of Ruby Falls!
The lights came on, and a waterfall, roughly equivalent to five cows taking a leak, was revealed. I'm not normally the first one to see humor in a situation, but in this case I laughed outloud while everyone else just looked kind of bewildered.
I can only suppose that it was dry season, because it didn't even seem to rise to the level of "tourist trap."

It was great having you on the trip, it made it bunches more fun for those of us in the younger generation.
