We were very confused about the hint system, and decided that it probably must have cost a lot of points to take a hint. (And later on it was sort of a point of pride I think, so we just used lots of verification requests instead.)
I think the Bay Area version was run slightly differently than ours. We published an email with all the rules for hints and stuff a few days before the hunt.
Also, Matt, being as you've been a team member longer than almost anyone else (remember, I think you and me and Drew and Mike are the only remaining members of the original team that played as Liboncatipu in PH7, and I think the name is your fault in the first place!!) I think it would have been a shame for you to not get a chance to see us host the hunt, since you're definitely responsible for us getting to that point. Regardless of PH15 or not, I'm really glad you decided to come up for this. :)

(I know the hint system was explicitly sent out to the Seattle teams, I don't know if that same memo was broadcast to the simulcast.)
