I'm posting this whole thread as I want to talk about force awakens - or at least get a couple of things off my chest.

Surfed over here from dorktowerfeedNot quite sure how I felt about the movie yet. I'm going to need a little longer to digest it- I enjoyed it on the most part, but there was a lot of it that felt kind of ... fanfictiony? The main baddies were The Empire But Worse under the command of Han and Leia's Evil Son, who have The Death Star But Bigger... Part of me feels that this is The Awesome Star Wars You Thought Up When You Were 16, which is maybe a little farther away than what Classic Star Wars is than I'd really like

Is Rey's lightsaber the same one that Ben gave to Luke? I think the alien landlady implied that it was, but didn't that one fall from the cloud city when Vader cut Luke's hand off? In RotJ Vader said something like, "I see you have constructed a new lightsaber; your training is complete."

Yes. It is unclear how it was recovered after it fell from the Cloud City- I think Han even asks when he sees it, but Maz doesn't say.

Also, were we supposed to recognise the old bloke at the beginning who had the memory stick with the secret map on it? He and Kylo Ren seemed to know each other.

Han's Death is worse the second time round when you know for sure its coming... ripped me to pieces....
