Jack was used to Sam getting a little...lost in her own world. That said, he wasn't used to her up and disappearing for hours when she'd just lost the baby and was still recovering. Dammit, didn't she know...no. She didn't. She just got lost tinkering on something.

Jack figured she was on the damn space station and, given he was ITF, blustered his way up.

"Carter? You planning on telling me where you went?"

"Hm?" She was so absorbed in what she was doing that she didn't register that Jack was talking to her until about five seconds after he'd spoken. "Well I wasn't planning to be gone long," she said. "I didn't realize there was so much up here to see."

"Yeah," Jack said flatly, looking around. "A little warning would have been nice. I almost lost you. I wasn't planning on doing it again, Carter."

"I told you I was going out and I'd be back in a little while," Sam said, bristling a little. She didn't like reminders that she wasn't completely on her game yet. "I'm fine."
