While the sudden change to snowy Victorian London was kind of irritating, having William around made it a lot more fun. He was fascinated by everything, loved everything, wanted to do everything. So Sam and Jack had a good time taking him around to all the different "stores" to go "shopping" and out to play in the snow, and for the last few days

The clothes were kinda irritating but God did he love Carter in all the dresses. She was gorgeous anyway, no matter what, but Carter in something so girly was just a novelty Jack couldn't get enough of.

He lifted William up on his shoulders and laughed when the kiddo giggled about it and about being "so tall."

"Like the uh...blue thingie."

"It's a cloak," she informed him, fastening it snugly so it wouldn't flap around and annoy her. "And you need some layers too, mister. It's cold out there." Jack was about as irritated with the clothes as she was, and while she liked that that irritation resulted in him wearing a lot of loose, open-necked shirts, he couldn't go out like that.

"Don't make me wear a cravat," Jack said, proud he'd just remembered the name of the damn thing. "But I guess I gotta consider putting on an overcoat if we're going out in the snow."

He laughed a little. "William's clothes are better by far."

"But you look so dashing in it," she teased. Since he had his hands full with William, she found his coat and they carefully traded, putting the coat over his arm while she took William back into her arms and settled him on her hip. "We're going to go get a Christmas tree," she said, and oh God, she was babytalking him a little. "Won't that be fun?"

William nodded, thumb in his mouth.
