Wah! I haven't seen it yet because I don't have a TV up here in the woods.

Ooh, I didn't recognize her -- that's awesome! I'm going to add that to this post.

Dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb episode.

Banging on mysterious plasticky/glassed-in pods? Making snotty, condescending remarks to the people you're supposed to be guarding? Walking around in the dark and fog on a strange planet, where Weird Things are Happening, WHISTLING, so that (a) you can't hear things sneaking up on you and (b) attracting the attention of said things? Jesus Christ.

If these were the "best and the brightest" these people could pick, then our Armed Forces are in sad, sad shape.

All the things you pointed out the sergeant doing made me positive she was going to get killed. I was surprised she made it all the way to the end.

The one thing I did like about her behavior was that it seemed sterotypical for grunts, thus taking her gender out of the equation. After the fistbump of sexism (Seriously? SERIOUSLY? "Four hot girls, awesome" -- SERIOUSLY?), that was kind of refreshing.

But I agree: dumb.

If they're from Atlantis, they're under his command, so why would he be surprised?

Because Sheppard never does his paperwork! It's practically canon now. Lorne surely wouldn't have been surprised. :D

I was delighted to see Nicole deBoer (Porter) after a long time. She was on DS9 for a season and used to do a show with David Hewlett, I believe-- funny that they didn't have any scenes together in this ep.

What bothered me was (well, aside from I'm not a zombie fan, so that sucked a lot of interest out of the ep) how Rodney was treated at the end of the episode, when the friend he'd mourned so hard teased him by hanging out with Sheppard instead when he was about to leave again, maybe for good.

Oh, OK, I get it now. At the time, it just added to my confusion over what was going on.

What bothered me was ... how Rodney was treated at the end of the episode

Me too! I said to my husband, "If Carson is Rodney's best friend, why hadn't he told Rodney about Porter?" It didn't make any sense to me. SGA screws up all kinds of relationship moments, it seems. *rolls eyes*

Well, I did make up the paperwork thing, but it was the only way I could make sense on the fly of Sheppard not knowing what's going on. Laid-back commander, indeed.

Word on everything! John not knowing who they were pissed me off because forget the paperwork excuse, not knowing who the people under your command are is just bad leadership, and I'd expect him to know everyone on the gate teams.

But the girls were cute. Apparently no one seems to care Vega died, which sucks, because I really liked her, but yay for the others - I hope they have more guest pots on the show. In my mind, at least, the entire team are BFFs with Lorne, and Ronon and Dusty are totally going to start doing it. Soon.
