It is 9:20 Thursday night. IT did a push for the latest version of the sasser virus last night. When I came in this morning after re-booting, I found that I had the virus. The spent from first thing in the morning until nearly 4:00p.m. tracking down why their virus stuff wasn't finding it when it was on my machine. Of course my machine kept turning itself off. This was lots of fun. Their ADMINISTRATOR password would not work on my machine. They could not find it in "safe" mode. All patches appeared to be loaded. Finally late in the afternoon, someone noticed that my operating system version was behind on the current patch. No one knows why. Those are pushed out too and should have been picked up at the next re-boot or shutdown. Once the operating system was caught up, the virus blocking stuff took over and I am fine now. Unfortunately the whole darn day was wasted when I had a major deadline. I am taking a 10 minute break to clear my thoughts before I get back to work. The phone system in the building went out between 5
