Rug Doctor - Agent of Doom?

Among other things, I Rug Doctored (washed the carpet)  the house tonight

While I admit this isn't the cleanest house (the two of us that live here at the moment both work outside, and it has been bucketing down the last week), I was genuinely surprised by how much dirt came out of the carpet. Seriously, forget The 4th Kind & Paranormal Activity, this was quite disturbing, Especially considering it didn't even get the stains out (they're old, prior to my moving in here).

And for good measure, I finished off the work (kinda) in my flatmate's room while he is away. Although I did have to move all his furniture around in the process. And then made another disturbing discovery (totally by accident, it was on the windowsill) - he is reading a Twilight novel. Dude, that's bad. I'm going to hope that it's his girlfriend's, but if that were the case, it'd be at her house (3hrs away). I considered getting a feminine hygiene product to replace the bookmark, but that may be taking the joke too far. Plus given that I don't actually menstruate, I'd have to buy some.

So I'm a bit tired tonight (it's late here now) and I have to get up early, with a long day tomorrow. My ear hurts, generally a sign I have an infection. I don't want to go to the doctor for antibiotics though - I need a different kind for my heart and they always make me feel really nauseous. I'm supposed to go for another scan at some stage - I've been putting that off as it's really expensive and while it will show that my heart is a bit deformed, it works better than most people's.

I gather it's Memorial Day in the US. I'd like to add my support to those who are thanking (and thinking of) the troops and fallen soldiers
