Oh, excellent!! I really, really, really love this!!
The teaching Rodney to drive bits are brilliant and really fit in with the story, and I love John's thoughts throughout this, his frustration, his anger etc, with Rodney, with the people who'd hurt him...
You kept to the spirit of the story and the series, and yet made it your own!
As soon as I got you for my assignment I was like "I want to do the Cousins series!" And for some reason, cousins made me think Dukes of Hazzard, and I really have no idea how that tied back to John reading those reports, but that scene between them in the original story was one of my favorites.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :) I was a little nervous about changing up the bits of dialogue, but I was pretending that John was just interpreting the events different than Rodney in that instance.
So... *hopeful nudge* Part Five on the horizon? :D (Yes, I know you've already told me no, but can't blame a girl for trying)
Argh!! No, please, put those thumb screws away....!! *g* Okay, so maybe that's an overreaction to your hopeful nudge...just a little bit!!
I do have an idea, but it's a bit complex and my brain isn't up to it atm! Also, it sort of bypasses season 1, which is a bit of a cop out (and I've already done that to a large extent with my Gifted Castaway story!)...so maybe I need a plot bunny to come give me a smaller, easier to handle part five and the other big scary one can be part 6...or 7!!
But then that Desolation fic might end up on the back burner...as if it hasn't temporarily stalled again anyway!
Oh how I wish I could sit down and just write this stuff in my head without stupid low energy levels getting in the way!

*snort* Well... whatever the muse is willing to let you do, I'm sure I'll be happy with. Of course, you can always go fill-in-the-blanks later if you want to write ahead ;)

Well, you got to take care of yourself first. Us impatient readers can just wait ;)
"Now, as you ease off the clutch, give it a little gas-"
The car lurched forward a few inches as the engine roared in protest before giving a painful dying cough.
That is so very realistic. *g* And now Sheppard will have to start all over again with the Puddle Jumper, teaching Rodney to fly in a straight line... Aaaaaww!
It in no way at all resembles the driving lessons my older brother had to give me when I got my first manual transmission. Okay, maybe it does a little, minus the whole car taking flight bit.

HEE! "This is why parents get someone else to teach their kids how to drive!" That... might have been part of the thinking behind this. Poor John, always getting gray hairs from those driving lessons...
Ohhh, Grey, as per usual, you astound me. Your interpretation of the characters is right on. This story complimented nicely Leesa's wonderful AU series. You both are awesome.
Aww, thank you, Soter! It's my first time remixing, and I really wanted something that could slide into Leesa's world, without changing it up too much. And in every AU possible, I want John to teach Rodney how to drive, if only for the lulz.
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that after reading the Cousin Series, it's a wonderful extra to it. I totally enjoyed reading it. I think you've done a fantastic job. Congrats! Many many stars! Sirle (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1231137/)
