My Father passed away on January 30, 2006 at 2:36PM at the age of 76 after a brief bout with cancer. After talking to my brother yesterday evening I have decided it is critical that I make a quick trip out to Santa Fe, NM for a long weekend after next. My father's condition is not great. I have really got to start getting my act together in terms of my personal life.

This past weekend and this week has been extremely stressful. We found out on Saturday of last week that my father has cancer not only in his chest but spreading all the way to his back, very intrusive with shadows in his lungs. I had my work review early last week. It was pretty much what I expected. All good plus my boss applauded me for my loyalty to the company during the times that things were rough. I received my raise and it was a good one plus a few other perks that are quite nice. I will stay with the company at least for another year to see how things ( Read more... )

As usual, I traveled home to Santa fe for Christmas. I really miss living in the Southwest. People are so much more laid back. Everyone in DC has attitude and self importance. The trip to South America was truly outstanding, one of the best ever. Buenos Aires was particularily incredible in terms of the cities I visited. I expected more from Montevideo, Uruguay.
