~ These codes are for HTML-- ie: when you're typing up a comment on LJ or writing in your update box or in notepad (because I originally intended these to be handy for LJ-style RPing purposes). NOT for microsoft word or instant messaging unless MARKED OTHERWISE-- they have different codes and executions.
~ For that, you can always copy + paste one of these symbols into your word/messaging (though it likely won't work for the stranger characters-- and almost certainly not on AIM, though possibly on MSN) or else search for the character in the link provided below for the "alt-numberpad" code for them :D;.
