Morning in Rome

Mar 28, 2007 10:04

I'm at a different InternetPoint - quite surprised that they are not 'internet cafes' anymore, but are either phone stores, computer equipment stores, or gaming stores. Eventually, I expect the major cities will be wi-fi, and we'll have to bring our own equipment. More stuff to lug ( Read more... )

Thanks for the update! It sounds lovely, if tiring.

Everything goes well, here. Cats are well, except there seem to be some hairball issues, and I'm trying to figure out how to get the youngins to stop pestering the Grande Dame. I almost closed JL's office door last night, since she was trying to hide in the closet in there, but the other two wouldn't let her, except I didn't want to cut her off from the litter boxes. They seemed to quiet down after a while, though it took a while for her to come out this morning for breakfast.

The final episode of Rome is on your computer, which I will keep on the hd for you. I'll be dling LoM tonight.

thanks for the dl's! Poor Luj, I don't know how to keep the others from bothering her, and she doesn't seem able to fend them off. Hope they don't keep her from the food tho - she's lost weight in the last year, and sometimes is too picky. Sigh... I miss my cats!

I tried to dl LoM the other day, but it wouldn't let me on the guest account. It said I had already downloaded as a guest three times in the past week (I'm trying to remember a third, but I can't!), so I would have to sign in or wait. I'll see about logging on next time via your account ( ... )

Thanks for the updates -- I travel vicariously through them. How is your command of Italian holding up?

I met a woman here once who was from Bologna, and she was clearly homesick. Now I begin to see why. Sounds well worth a visit.

Keep on cookin',
Alex

I remember very little Italian anymore - I haven't taken any classes in the last few years, and of course I know very little French and they don't speak spanish in Barcelona. I manage, just not with deep conversations...

It all sounds lovely; your description of the wisteria and the artichokes is particularly evocative. I'm going to cut and paste your whole entry in an email to the MoT; her mother is going to Rome next month and I think she may find it useful.

Is that 750 euros for a 5-day week or for a 7-day week? Either way, it sounds a steal! And I just love the idea of having an apartment in Rome... -em.
