What is it with computers and never getting measurements right? And it's too stiff, do these people still use that...what was it? Starch? Of all the--[there are other, more grumbled complaints, but they taper off eventually. the Sphere, which looks as though it was left on a nightstand of some type is lifted, then tossed into the air with a hesitant, abortive motion, as if the person in question doesn't believe it's going to work.
which is why, when the little device spins and focuses on the face of one Leonard H. McCoy, doctor, he looks surprised] ...well I'll be damned.
[he clears his throat, tugging just slightly on his new uniform before speaking] I'm Dr. McCoy. Admiral Ganymede has put me in charge of this medical ship, the Demeter. I'm not from around here. I'm new, like most of you. Just got here a few days earlier than the first bunch.
[he pauses awkwardly, frowning; he's a doctor, not a spokesperson, he'd say] We don't got as big a crew as the other ships, so I'll be needing everybody assigned her to come talk to me. We've a lot of people to take care of and not a lot of manpower to do it.
And everybody on every ship is going to need a physical, so schedule one early.
