Today same of my housemates and I competed in the Google Games, a series of nerdy competitions run by Google as a semi-recruiting event. It was a lot of fun. Nineteen teams of 5 from MIT, Harvard, Olin, and Brown competed in Geek Trivia, Lego Building, Puzzles, and Wii athletics. I very much like the presentation, although I think it's weakest at the beginning where it is trying to summarize what "other" people think about how math should be taught.

This presentation made me wish I had an iPad. :)

The main message, about the alinearity of mathematics, was of course beautifully argued and presented. I did worry a little bit about the encouragement to take tangents, as I've seen GSIs take this as a blank check on their time to discuss higher-level ideas in coherently.
