"Hiya," Alison picked her way through the trees to Star. His shock of bright, red hair had been easy to see amidst all the lush green. She had been surprised when he'd contacted her and asked to meet -- usually, it was her tracking him down -- but, she was always pleased to see him.
If the location was a bit strange, she didn't think much of it. She'd come to expect a little strangeness from Mojoworlders. "Hope I didn't keep you waiting."
"Not for an unacceptable amount of time." He doesn't stand up, stays sitting against the tree he staked out earlier and deemed acceptable.
"I wish to explain matters that I have previously alluded to. I have decided to tell you so that you may facilitate explaining these events to Longshot later."
Alison was very careful not to show her mounting surprise. He'd never volunteered information before. Getting information out of Shatterstar was much more difficult than pulling teeth. Unless one were pulling teeth with a chainsaw and then that kind of came close to the experience.
She takes a seat on the ground and leans against another tree, somewhat facing Star, and nods. "Alright. I'll listen to whatever you want to tell me. And I'll do my best to explain to Longshot, if you want me to."
"The pens of my time are the pinnacle of cruelty devised by the Spineless Ones. To start at the beginning though:"
He thinks. Tries to find words. "We are made in the labs. We are grown in tubes which hyperaccelrate our growth to the physical age of three for the humanoid base types like myself. Then we are moved into the training pits. We drill and learn to fight in our unit. When we are sufficiently trained, we are moved out to the arena for our first fight.
"This is where we kill or be killed. I was the only member of my unit to graduate. I killed nine other of the initiates. I was an age you would equate to eleven. Is anything unclear so far?"
