Do they really have to?

It's not even 7am yet, do they have to start work on the house next door?

(Next door bulldozed their house and putting up a mass produced 2 story building).

I'm sure they're not allowed to start before 7am during the week. How rude.

nope they are not allowed to start before 7am without permission so you can complain to the local council as a first step

We know the owners so we complained once before when that particular sub contractor started before 7 on a Saturday. Problem is that each step of the house is a separate sub contractor. However, I agree that we have to be big boys and at least contact the owners or the builders to ask them not to start before 7am again, and to please not leave cigarette butts in our yard (well, ok, I only found one but we're trying to kill off the weeds and grass at the back at the moment so that in a few months we can put down new turf so you can imagine if it were still lit.

Now that it's 2:30pm on a Friday they've gone home.

Anyhoos, I just remind myself that it's no big deal and the issue will be gone in a few months. Then I have to remind myself that not everyone has good taste when I have to go past the house every day haha...
