Red and Kennedy came waltzin' on in and then Wes tried his best to explain about Vail and the Circle of Black Thorn that had taken Soul Boy outta the picture for good. I've never realized how much I talked to someone who was into magic as well. Back when...when the rest was still alive, there wasn't anyone to talk to much. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Wesley sneak into the room. Wasn't sure if Connor had heard him or not, especially over Noname who was growling and barking loudly and trying to pull Connor by the pant leg off of me. When I had time I needed to grab the bloody dog and put him away safely. God only knew what Connor was capable of. But Faith came first, even though she was quite capable of taking are of herself, I couldn't help watching out for her ( ... )

My eyes flitted briefly between Wesley and Connor. I could see Wes reaching for his guns and I was vaguelly comforted that he was here to back me up. But I was more than sure I could knock Connor down a peg or two all on my lonesome. Still, good to have back up. Then he had to go and curse under his breath, which drew Connor's attention to him. That was all I needed just that one split second of his attention divided and I burst into action ( ... )
