Here Things had gone from bad to worse. But at least this time when Faith and I had a fight, we didn't nearly kill each other. Only be looks. The question however was, would either of us still be alive later? Connor had shown up, memory once again altered by Vail. No doubt to keep us occupied. He knew how important Angel's son was to both Faith and myself. Is. He *is* important. And to get us really occupied, he made it so Connor believed Faith killed Angel.
Of course that wasn't the case. It was a close call, he nearly killed her. And me in the process, but in the end he got away. Which was when Faith and I had our fight. She wanted to go after Vail, who was still in Los Angeles, I gather. I wanted to make certain Connor would be alright. In the end she stormed out as well, going god only knows where. She's determined to get herself killed, and there is nothing I can do about that.
Short of knocking her out. It's been done before, I'll do it again if needed. She's all I have. Sure, Willow and her girlfriend are here now too. I can only hope Willow has something up her sleeve, a powerful witch as she is. And maybe Kennedy can go after Faith. They seem to know and like each other. Though going after Vail is a certain death sentence without a plan. And Faith? Does not have one, other then beat the shit out of him. Much like Angel used to do.
And thus I found myself in front of Willow's door, dog in my arms, waiting for her to open up. When she finally did, she blinked, looked at me with wide eyes and the at Noname. Of course she'd know we had the dog. Much to her amusement, and apparently Kennedy's.
"Wesley? What's wrong?" she said, moving out of the way to let me in. Kennedy was still nowhere to be seen. Maybe she was in the shower, or out doing whatever it is Slayers these days do.
"Connor was here," I quickly tell her, dumping Noname on the bed. "Vail upped the stakes. He made him think Faith killed Angel. He ran, Faith went after Vail." Running a hand through my hair, I sighed and gave her a lost look.
"What?" Willow squeaked. "He'll kill her!" She sank down on the bed and started to pet Noname.
"I know. I need to find her, but I need to find Connor as well. Make sure he's safe." Christ, when did my life become such a mess? Oh right. Just around the time I was born I guess.
"Don't worry about Connor," She said. "I can do a spell and find him. I'm sure Kennedy and I can keep him out of trouble till...something. Uh...You can't beat Vail yet." She frowned, clutching the pennant around her neck.
I thought that over. We'd made some plans, but they wouldn't work now, not without Willow. "Willow? Can you do a locator spell, find Faith. Then can you borrow me some of your power so I can try to defeat Vail? At least get Faith out?"
She gave me a dubious look. "That's dangerous Wes," she said softly.
"I know that Willow," I said, perhaps a little harsher then I meant. "But what choice do I have?" Turning back to her, I gave her a pleading look.
Willow thought about it for a long time. I almost though she wouldn't do it, but in the end she nodded. Transferring some of her power was easy. Locating Faith, was a little more difficult. Once we were done, there was a small light hovering near me, which was going to show me the way to Faith.
"Willow?" She looked up from putting her things away. "If things go wrong? Take care of Noname for us, and made sure Connor is safe?"
She made a face, sighed and then nodded. "Be careful, Wes. Don't get yourself killed and bring Faith back. You two are weird, but I'd miss ya." She smiled brightly, though there was a tinge of sadness. Then she pulled me in for a big hug, once again making me promise to be careful. I gave Noname one last pat, ordered him to behave and then I gathered my weapons and was out the door.
Once in my car, I started to follow the light, which would lead me to Faith. And no doubt...Vail.
