Okay. So everything I hear (where this article was originally published, what I have read about this guy, etc. etc. I mean for crying out loud it was posted on the huffington post!) about this guy makes it seem that he is a complete nutcase ( Read more... )

That is a DAMN good article and I think a lot of people will be posting it. Pieces pieces pieces of the puzzle... all unsatisfactory but then there's this... which Tetris all those previous incomplete pieces together. Gained a lot of insight from it.

There are definitely nutcases in the world on both sides of the spectrum. And I actually sort of believe Christianity to be more compatible with socialism than capitalism (i.e. money being the root of all evil, it being difficult for the reach to get into heaven).

I tried reading it but I think you have to be an extradimensional nonprime for it to make sense. O_O Why would learning things at home be sooooo bad lots of the nobles do that with their children?

((FYI, for those reading my journal, this is an in character post of a friend of mine. don't want any normal folk to get confused. I'm responding in character-Gav))

It's less about the fact that they are doing home schooling and more about the very very politically, religiously, and socially divisive sorts of things they are teaching -- the WHY they are doing the home schooling and the WHAT they are teaching them. Basically many people are raising their kids in a type of understanding that is soooo drastically different than the rest of folk that it is downright dangerous.
