I think the consensus is lineup depth, and better goaltending. Hasek could have spent the Calgary series wearing flip-flops and sleeping in a hammock for all the shots he faced.
I agree with you on Buffalo (not merely because they're my guys) & Anaheim, unless Luongo single-handedly steals the series (too many weapons wearing webbed feet, not enough Sedin siblings in that one).
I have NFI who to pick in the Sens/Devils series; however, I'm rooting for it to go seven, preferably with a couple multiple-OT games in there, and a lot of nagging injuries to crop up, for purely self-serving reasons. A Brian Gionta/Scott Gomez/Dany Heatly/Chris Neil four-way pileup would bring a smile to my face.
I just can't hold up Nabokov to Hasek. Hasek's old and fragile, but these guys *live* for Second Season. I agree he didn't see much from the Flames, but Detroit's consistently protected him from being buried in shots.
I like Buffalo all the way - hope Miller keeps it together.
Luongo can only keep the score-against down; I don't see enough shots on the Ducks' duo-goalie for Luongo to do more than keep them in sight. I agree - they lack the firepower to get enough past duo-goalie.
I still cannot see the Sens going all the way. Brodeur - there's a man to steal a series from a superior club. You may hate Lamiorello, but the man runs a team well...
