He sent the reply off with his school-loaned owl as he pulled his jacket on, hoping it wouldn't be too thin for the short walk across the grounds. Whitehorn wasn't terribly far away, but the winds were cutting fairly chilly these days.
Ten minutes later, as promise, he walked down the hall toward her room, hearing the loud thump of music along the way, although he couldn't quite tell if it was Zoey's place or the neighbors even once he'd gotten close enough to knock on the door.
It wasn't Zoey's room, she had more courtesy than that, sometimes anyway. She was rolling her eyes at the music she could hear as she opened the door.
"They have absolutely no taste. It's ridiculous," she muttered as she stepped back to let Gavin in. She'd turned one of the desks into a makeshift table and was expecting it to cause a roommate war. Which reminded her.... "Here's my disclaimer: my roommate is insane. So, just ignore her if she happens to show up."
"Terrible tasteless neighbors, mad roommate," he repeated dutifully, nodding at the girl as he stepped inside the room a bit further at her invitation, his lips curling slightly. "Got it."
The first few moments he took just to glance around, taking note of the things in the room and the overall feel. Sometimes dorm rooms were surprising given the person, and others, he felt as though he could've drawn them out by hand before ever seeing them.
"I take it she wasn't a friend of yours before Painswick?"

Here would be good so I don't have to drag food all over the place. I'm in Whitehorn 315.
