We're having elections at the moment as well. I feel sorry for all the trees that were wasted on stupid pamphlets that no one is going to read.

My friend once plastered herself in the various multi-coloured fliers (she pinned them to her clothes) so that no one would offer her one when she walked past.

The easiest method to avoid rabid election people to come down with some horrible debilitating illness meaning you can't go to uni for that whole week.
