massive attack use the lyrics in a song called 'safe from harm'.
but it's originally from an old soul song, the name of which escapes me.

Not sure if this is the original artist or not, but the picture looks old enough to suggest that it was.

Anyway, thanks, Beckytron, for posting it. It's a really nice lyric that I'm sure lots of people can relate to. No idea what's going on in your life that prompted you to mention it, given that you've recently driven the tone of your LJ down to even more cryptic and non-sequitur than mine.
