Time to scratch off the "Powered by Rice" bumper stickers and print up the "Powered by Curry" ones.

One of the big questions is the environmental impact of having hundreds of thousands of new Tata's (cars, not boobs) on the road. I'm not so sure I would ever buy such a car. I mean, some models don't even come with a radio. I would, however, buy a SMART car if it were available in the USA as a hybrid model.

The smart will be available hopefully in the 2009 model year as a mild hybrid.

I currently have a deposit down on a gas 2008 smart fortwo... I'm counting the minutes - it's going to be a couple of months though :(

I saw one of these in Pasadena on the freeway. It wasn't setting any land speed records, but was holding its own nevertheless.

Yeah, there is the pollution issue. I can't even begin to imagine what the streets of Mumbai would look like with hundreds of thousands of these things crawling all over it. Polluted enough from what I hear.

Speaking of cheap Indian automobiles, what ever happened to that one with cardboard bodywork and compressed air power?

Is that the Trabant?

Ok, I was mixing those two. You may already know that Tata is working with MDI on the air-powered car...
