BAD DAY

Dec 07, 2007 14:01

Yeah, now if I could only get over the emotional eating that has bombarded me this afternoon. I just got back form the car dealer to discover that a fender bender with no visible signs of damage resulted in an almost $900 damage. Deductible is, of course, $750, so why bother even turning it in. I hate cars ( Read more... )

Regarding the food: progress, not perfection. :-)

Regardin the car: an Asian woman rear-ended me a few days ago. Bumper was scratched, but I just waved her on. After all, what are bumbers for? Repairs are WAY overpriced nowadays, and cars aren't made for modularity & quick fixes. Hell, even my headlamps require "professional installation!" Geesh.

Hope your day gets better soon...

Dave, thanks for the wise words. Progress, not perfection is my new mantra - I'll post it at work.

Also, thanks in gerneral for your constant support! Hope to have pics of the new condo - you should enjoy the decorating more than anyone else I know.

Sweetheart I'm so sorry this happened to you. It certainly is hard to understand why some things happen. All I can say is that if you need to talk you can call me any time and I still believe everything happens for a reason. God or not god, I believe in karma.

Re: shared house; no, you shouldn't have allowed that. I assume you're on the mortgage and title; if she defaults and is foreclosed on, your credit will go to hell as well. You might be able to counsel her on how to avoid that, but there may be nothing you can do (short of putting in money yourself to avoid it.)

Yeah, I'm a softie. we bought the house three years after I told her the whole marriage thing wouldn't work. I wanted her and the kids to have a home. Ten years after that I moved out. I still help with the mortgage, and no one would offer her one due to her (lack of) employment, so I stayed on withe the divorce decree stating that when the house was sold, I'd get 30% of proceeds. I have to make sure there are some so I can't let it go the foreclosure route in any way. And we're about to close in four weeks on our condo. I may not put my name on that title so as to prevent it from being attached at this point.
