I haven't written on here lately...

So there have been a lot of things that have happened to me or to people around me over the last week that have really had me thinking about some stuff. Also, I don't think I have been as excited about anything for a long, long time as I am about going camping. It's a great feeling; kinda like that feeling you have right before you kiss someone for ( Read more... )

i know that life is worth living when I feel the most alive. Most of the time its when I'm doing something daring or that gives me a "rush". Other times its when something great happens unexpected; a girl that you've been dying to go out with gives you a shot, someone does something great for you for no reason. there are many things that make us get up in the morning, but very few things that make us feel "alive". The squeezinesse and wind in my face from coasters do it for me, like you said: its the anticipation and hope that everything will come out alright in the end but no really knowing for sure that it will. I think its all about the risks that we take...

Can we dress up at least once a week together- you in your fly-fishing gear and me in my dinosaur costume. I will need a reason to put it on after halloween and you a reason after the trip. We'll be so cool. I've decided life is full of opportunities- good and bad- and not all of them are real possibilities. I think what makes life worth living is taking advantage of those opportunities- whether it is that special someone or that trip or taking advantage of the opportunity to smile at someone who needs it or to share your faith. Life is one big opportunity that you can't afford to miss. What is great about it though, is that there are no deadlines to apply and no real way to get rejected.

i know that life is worth living when i hear a child laugh, when i see someone smile and i know that i have done something, no matter how small, to bring that about. when i feel the October breeze and see the cloudless sky on those perfect driving-with-the-windows-down-blasting-your-favorite-cd days. life is worth living when i see love being lived out in everyday life around me. :) people giving and sharing. being in nursing school and seeing those little moments is such a wonderful experience.

i hope that your camping trip surpasses all your expectations and so many more great revelations come to you. to break the monotony of routines i just tell myself everyday when i wake up that each day is new, and i will do something to make this one extraordinary. live for today bc we have hope in tomorrow. :) take care...

and ive actually given this response alot of thought the last day or two. What makes me feel alive? I realized its the artist in me that makes me feel something when i breathe in and out. Its the process of creating. To be able to visualize something in your mind and then give birth to it, wether its on canvas, in clay, or on paper. The process is invigorating. To lose yourself, sometimes for hours, to think of nothing and everything all at once, and none of it have anything to do with the stresses of the "real world." To stand back when its "done" (nothing is ever done) and to be satisfied. Taking a chance and letting it all come out, your emotions, feelings, frustrations, anger, love, enthusiasm and spastic tendencies. You have complete control. ::sigh:: :)
