A lot of the time I feel like someone who just sitssss around. I think that's what people think of me as too. Which is weird, because I do a good amount of moving and shaking. Sure, sometimes there will be a week or two where I'll see a lot of my computer screen and hardly any friendly faces, but I think a lot of other people do this a lot of the ( Read more... )

Thank you for talking about James Rabbit - I'll check him out. You say the singing saw doesn't get used much - over here in NYC there is actually an annual singing saw festival. Check out the video on their page: www.musicalsawfestival.org

I couldn't go on enough about how much I loved James Rabbit.

Specifically in this post, I meant that the girls in the band didn't play their saw much, although they had one. Although in general it is an underutilized and under-appreciated instrument.

For Saw enthusiasts I recommend checking out any and everything by Julian Kostner. He was a member of Neutral Milk hotel, has his own band The Music Tapes, and is in general one of the most awesome people in the Elephant 6 scene as well.

Now, do I know you by chance, oh anonymous poster?

Through all the highs and lows, that sounds like an absolutely epic day. Thanks for mentioning James Rabbit; I took a look at their myspace and it looks like they're playing a show in Davis this week; I'm gonna check them out if I've got nothing else in my way.

Bungalow Bill:

No need to couch surf in the East Bay if you don't want to. AC Transit runs a bus across the bridge 24/7 (route 800) and has 5 routes around the East Bay 24/7. MUNI also has 5 routes that run 24/7. It takes a while, but can get anywhere any time on a bus. Find them on 511.org.

Thank you Mr. Peeples. I can't say I've ever attracted more attention from anonymous internet contributors than with this post. I'll keep the 800 in mind next time I'm over there...
