Wow. My last few days have been crazy.
tuesday I went to Marshall to talk about my latest project.
So, there's this girl who lives in Oklahoma. She lives in a small town with her mother. One day, when she's 13 or so, a girl in her town flips her car over and dies. This girl, Kathleen, flips her car over and dies.
Koreys mom breaks the news: Kathleen was her half-sister. Their father was a serial monogomist, who left a swath of chldren across the state.
Reeling nad hoping to find identity, Korey becomes a slut, begging people for solace, sexually. By the end of her senior year, she hates herself so much that she runs away.
Her car breaks down in Kansas, where she starts to wait tables at a diner. She meets a man named Matt, with whom she falls in love. They are on the eve of their wedding when Korey discovers, via birth certificate and other odd conicidences, that they have the same father.
She second (or so) act is her trying to cope and decide if she will leave him.
I also hung out a lot with Jon and went out with my parents for their annaversery.
Thursday I went to 6 Flags with Jim and Leslie which was a lot of fun. I was reminded, a bit sadly, that they are best friends. And I was jealous.
Yesterday, I went back to GCM and gave K some books, after which I went to not-coffee with Ryan. Ryan, you rock. I had so much fun.
And today is samapalooza.
So much love. (And very little shadowslipping)
