I'd be nostalgic too, but all I remember doing is pouring over the Herald Sun showbag guide at primary school and boasting who got to have the most expensive ones. :P

oh lord, now those were the days. never "what rides do you want to go on" or "what do you want to see", just "your showbag has to cost below this amount".

...wow, therathasspoken was right. the show is useless.

(god i'm glad there's something other than collingwood for me to watch tonight.)

Everywhere I've ever lived has had a 'show' - with the exception of Airlie Beach (although I only lived there for a six months so I may have just missed it).

Wallumbilla, Roma, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Longreach, Charleville, Darwin (there are actually two 'shows' - one in Darwin in July, the other is out near Humpty Doo in May, it's called The Fred's Pass Show).

I remember when I lived in brisbane there was the Jacaranda Festival, I'm not sure if that is that is like a show.... I was very little the last time I went, about 8 or 9.

Sydney has the Royal Easter Show.

Essentially the same as the Royal Adelaide Show, only larger and held at Easter.
