When I went to the UK (I live in Adelaide,) I was so shocked at the amount of gluten free stuff that just tastes fantastic and is in every Tesco (not Tesco Express mind, I checked) across the Kingdom. Australia sadly lacks the vast quantity of allergy appropriate stuff. Bread rolls, for example. Nice bread rolls.

Me? I'd love love love love love some gluten free Jaffa Cakes.

I don't know if this helps or is what you were looking for, but there you go ;)

BTW I used to live in America - marshmallow fluff is DELICIOUS. My family found it in Coles a couple years ago but haven't seen it since :(

I'm Australian, and I'm not a huge fan of overseas travel. I visited the UK for three weeks, France for two days, Malaysia for a week and have had stopovers in Brunei, Dubai and Singapore.

I'm a diet coke fiend and diet coke tastes weird in all of those places. It drove me nuts!

About 15 years ago I got a recipe from an american friend that needed 'miracle whip'. I looked and looked and couldn't find miracle whip anywhere. I've seen miracle whip many times since then. I don't have the recipe anymore though, can't even remember what the recipe was for. I think it was a cake of some sort..

Well, there's these.

Also, lemon lime & bitters.

And Cadbury chocolate (when I was living in Germany, I missed Cadbury chocolate even though I was surrounded by good chocolate).

I can't recall Yorkshire puddings being sold in Australia! No Bramleys in Australia either. Why does Schweppes lemonade have so much rubbish in it in the UK?! Sweeteners, flavourings everything 8-( The basic Tesco sparkling lemonade doesn't cut it! The fruit doesn't taste quite so nice in the UK but damn there are some gorgeous pomegranates... I'd probably have to go to a market to buy them in Australia. Mmm to vegetarian haggis in the UK... and the amaaazing range of ready made meals...

I am an American who lived in Australia for three months one winter (my summer). There are a few things I really wanted and had to have shipped to me. One is root beer. I LOVE root beer. It is practically the only carbonated beverage I drink (I usually drink water other than that). I could find it in the specialty food stores (containing foods from overseas) for an outrageous price but not in any groceries ( ... )
