This last year I started doing this thing where when I was feeling unsure of myself or insecure I would kind of take out my "WHAT WOULD ISABEL DO?" questionnaire and "RED LIPSTICK, DESTRUCTION" was always the answer. You are such a perfect example of how being passionate and articulate about what you love, however specific or niche, will bring out the same in others, and I hope you know how special that is, and you are! I feel better about going out and trying to craft my own narrative, knowing you're out making yours.

isabel isabel where do I begin. your precocious teenage years were precious to me as a bystander but i'm so glad we thought to ask 'will she be mean enough for us' because you are a goddamned delight. i love so much that you're capable of both the high speed four syllable word dante and measure and the good wife and justified and DEADWOOD screaming and then in the same breath falling over from laughter because of one of the dumbest jokes (or sounds let us never forget mambo number five on bike horns) i've ever heard. your solid love and loyalty have kept me going this year and I'm so grateful to have you at my back because let me tell you the rest of the world doesn't know what it's missing. let's just go straight for the obvious (if I wasn't already.... which I was) and say my couch will be severely lacking without you on it next year and I'm already preemptively sad. I LOVE YOU.
