I loved every single scene you had together, it was beautiful and devastating in equal measure. Gawd, why did we have to wait until the last ever episode to see you deal with the reveal? Or... why did Arthur have to die in the end? My OTP

The reveal was so beautiful, Merlin practising magic openly in front of Arthur and so on, it was AMAZING! That's what I've been craving for since series 1, that's what I've been hoping for much earlier in series 5.

Gawd, I just look at the beauty of these two together and all I can see is the wasted potential of a much earlier reveal. *siiiiiiigh*

Also: seeing Arthur die? DEVASTATING!!! Although I knew it'd happen I still can't believe that they really killed him off. :,(((

Likewise. Given the way they've f'd around with all the canon legend strands, I had hoped they would rise to the occasion. But obviously it was not to be. I'm sorry, I can't forgive J4 for the old!Merlin 'homeless' style at the end in modern era. I know it will all be 'fixed' by fanfic, but I wanted more from the 'canon' storyline. I will not forgive J4 for this outcome. And I will be wary (ie not ever touching anything they have a hand in) of anything else they create on TV. I just can't spend the time and effort investing in something like this again to have my hopes totally stomped all over. It's not specifically how they ended it - I could live with that, if only we'd had an early reveal and some semblence of a golden age ON SCREEEN!!!

I loved the acting, I loved the bromance. But this was all tooooooo late, to save the 'what might have been'.

I adored it. IT was everything I wanted and more; their looks, the way Arthur was so hurt but gradually came to accept it. How intrigued he was--and impressed--when Merlin did magic in front of him. OMG, when he did the little dragon out of the fire I nearly died, fanfic come to life.

Seriously, a MxA shipper couldn't have asked for more. I'm not even sad about Merlin alone forever because ARTHUR WILL RISE AGAIN. IN FIC. YAYYYYY.

That's where my mind went, too. I mean, after living so long, he also probably wouldn't want to be treated like some 20-something wippersnap. But once Arthur returned, I'm guessing he'd drop the disguise and reveal his 'true face' once more.
