30 Days of Creativity Day 5 -- Thistle

Yesterday, as I was leaving Aunt Nancy's, I pulled over to to the side of the  road to get a shot of a lone thistle in a field near her house. Tonight, I pulled it up to fiddle with a little. The result is one of my favorite nature shots I have taken  since I got this camera:

Thanks! I didn't even have to get out of the car for it. I like the way I was able to blur and discolor the background a bit.

Yes, I decided to kinda kill two birds with one stone with this project. Get back in the swing of things with LJing and do some experimenting with the camera. Although today's entry probably isn't going to be photographic, since I amm heading to Nashville right after class to spend the afternoon/evening with Cary in Nashville. We have a date with the Xmen. :)

It doesn't have Nightcrawler or Gambit ... so I think it's Xmen lite

I do LOVE Gambit, but wasn't thrilled with the guy who played him in Xmen Origins--Wolverine. However, EVERYONE I know who has seen the new one says it is the best Xmen movie yet. We are looking forward to Green Lantern, too, which opens Pride weekend.

Tonight we are also going to start True Blood season 3, since our movie will be a matinee. Mabye take the dogs to the greenway for a walk if the heat isn't miserable. Carter isn't a fan of the heat.
