OHMIGOD This is so so so beautifully written. Painfully so. Your characterizations and interactions are so vivid without falling into cliches, dramatics or 'shock factor.' And writing it from Taec's perspective in light of his 'condition' (for want of a better word) was especially effective. I could hardly breathe while reading it, and by the end I was gasping. Really, truly wonderful.
