Here from best_enemies. This is an awesome and creepy concept. I like!

The Master and the Doctor kill each other, once a year, because they are the only creatures in the universe, in every universe, that have that right.

This line had me going, "Yes! That is totally how Ten/Master would work." Especially reading back unwilling to die EoT Ten to LotTL.

I don't know where this concept came from, but I really liked the idea of them having this sort of tradition, where they recognise exactly how complex their relationship is.

What they said. Very dark, very twisted, and yes, very them! Kind of creepy, too.... and just 'cos someone needs to be terribly anal about it, I guess you're imaginining that they both now have unlimited regenerations... lol!

And yeah, there was an idea behind that, The cheating death has finally proved useful for them both, and the regenerations are over. Death will find them in many ways, but never old age, and when it does find them, they will return, forever, in the form they choose.
I did want to write about them discovering that trick, but I couldn't find a feasable way of creating it, so I left it as a mysetery, hehe.

Well, I think they would feel this way about each other even if they changed into new bodies or grew into old ones, but the point you make about them being each other's focal points (no matter they deny it to themselves for most of their lives) is right on target. Nice job.

I'm not 100% sure why I chose to end the regeneration process, but I liked the idea. I think I had the idea that the Master kept pushing the Doctor into finding the cheat so they never ran out.
