I have learned since the beginning of the 2008 Presidential campaign that class, credibility, and sober reasoning, preferably based on verifiable assertions and evidence, are clearly without value to a large and vocal group of Americans ( Read more... )

What absolutely fucking baffles me, EVERY time, is that people are willing to support a status quo that by any measurable metric is WELL behind every other first-world country, and then claim that to do so means we're better.

This completely leaves out the assertions that "everyone in this country has access to medical care!" and that clearly, a company that makes more money the less care it provides is never going to have incentive to deny people care, so let's not regulate that at all. Oh, and "private industry can't compete" with the public option that "is going to be horribly inefficient and bloated and suck and kill people 'cause the government runs it."

"It's not in the constitution!" "It's not a right!". You know, fuck it, I'd rather we make sure we don't have a little problem like "The Plague". To hell with "right", I'm all about "not suffering pestilence like a 3rd world hellhole."

That woman is something else!

More of that video

Doesn't want to pay for " a night on the", a woman's abortion, but will be happy to pay for a CEO's personal jet and vacation homes around the world by working 3.5 jobs between her and her husband and not even receive adequate health care herself. AND wears an IDF t-shirt while yelling "heil Hitler" to a jew. My goodness!

NEW YORK - The images are striking: One congressman's office defaced by a swastika, other congressmen heckled at public meetings, videos and placards likening Barack Obama to Hitler, private citizens with guns joining anti-Obama protests.
Outside one meeting hosted by Sen. Ben Cardin, a Maryland Democrat, authorities detained a man with a sign reading, "Death To Obama, Death To Michelle And Her Two Stupid Kids."

Where is the Republican leadership? Someone needs to grab the reins, and stop the idiots.

"Where is the Republican leadership? Someone needs to grab the reins, and stop the idiots."The Republican leadership? Where leaders aren't out front on this they are certainly running alongside. Even the most "moderate" of Republicans are repeating the craziness talking-points to energize their base when they are dealing directly with their supporters. Others are just repeating the "death panel" talking point publicly, like those that directly stated the bullshit claim directly on the Congressional floor ( ... )
