As for the existence of God, I would firmly fall in the "Pure Agnostic" camp. I am not a fence-sitter. I absolutely reject any mythology I have heard or read. As for the eternal mysteries of the universe, I don't know and you don't either. On the other hand, I find the stand of strident Atheists to be narrow-minded bordering on religion. I agree completely. I arrived at that by concluding that if there is a God, God would prefer we behave over believing in him. Anyway, I don't really believe in God the way he is in the Bible. I don't know what God is if God does exist. And it doesn't matter. However, I still have a Jesus thing which is probably sacreligious to others.

In my considered opinion it is bad enough that we think there _might_ be a soul. The existence of the soul, were it proved, would be the biggest excuse for poor behavior ever conceived in the dark heart of man. Nothing in this life would matter as this would then just be a dressed rehearsal at most ( ... )

Did you catch Stephen Fry on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson? An hour long interview. Great conversation. The tape is still available. Check it out.

Craig won the Peabody Award for a similar interview with Desmond Tutu.

I am reading Fry's "The Ode Less Travelled, unlocking the Poet Within".

Anyway, thanks for sharing the clip.
