Ant Totem

So, i keep running into ants this summer:

ants on the desert floor
a winged ant on the picnic table in vermont
a set of ants that had carved out parts of a tree on the Long Trail
ants on my arm while i write
some ants in my bed (not biting, but tickling)... weird

I knew that people attributed the ant totem with patience, but it didn't/doesn't feel

wow, that is dead on! I was watching ants terrorize caterpillars today.

They weren't terrorizing it, they were teaching it patience and perseverence. ahem.... well, maybe not... maybe they were just stocking up on food!

I think the one they were dragging away fell into the food category!
