Which costume will you wear
to show me your desires
Are you twelve years old
or reaching fifty-five?
Did you pay attention
to the perfection in that glance
a conduit of curiosity
fibers between souls
overlap in fields of probability
Did you see the reflection
of destiny in your words

wow. nice. particularly liked stanza six. here's mine from a couple years ago:

No water only rock?
Dry rock without water?
Dry air? Dry sweat?
Dry sterile Thunder?

We have water -
over rock
through sweat
from Thunder
air wet

In the darkness -
rock alive, red hot
heat
water pure from Thunder
sweet
steam hiss hissing spirits
meet
the heat, the heat

we have the sound of water over rock
we will drink from the stream
hold the line

recording = yay!
sick = boo! I have been sick for a month, can't get this shit out of my chest. started with sinus infection and sore throat. get better.

recording = yay! for sure... it sounds sooo good! i'll have to send you a copy when it is done.

ah, yes, you definately recognized the sweat lodge tones in that. have you been lately? i love your line
"in the darkness - rock alive, red hot"

sick = sucky, but i'm feeling a bit better now... it just sucks to try and sing delicately with plegm and sore throat. playing sax all stuffy is also a challenge. gah!

you know different tribes have different feelings about owls. the people I sweat with know that an owl they see can be connected to the elder of their hochoka. last time I sweated in Taos with them, Sarah was driving home from town and almost ran over an owl in the middle of the road during the time that I was in the sweat. a few weekends ago I made a run to South Dakota to take rocks to the guy up there and on the way home had an owl take off right next to my bumper that I didn't even notice was there. when my friends were driving back from Sun Dance in Vermont, he almost hit an owl three times that was in the middle of the road. the last time he didn't even notice because he was micro-sleeping. his wife made him pull over and switch. my sister's people didn't care for owls and saw them as bringers of bad portent. so when I saw it on top of the vacuums at the car wash looking at me, I just smiled and said, "how ya doin? good to see ya ( ... )
